
The 42nd edition of the BBVA Mexico City Half Marathon and the Telcel Mexico City Marathon will take place in July and August of this year, expecting the participation of around 30,000 runners. The date for both competitions will be Sunday, August 31, 2025, occupying the main thoroughfares of Mexico City.
According to Clara Brugada, the Head of Government of Mexico City, registration is open to the public, including professional runners who may aspire to participate in the Boston Marathon. The first place in the CDMX Marathon 2025 will receive a prize of 50,000 dollars and a Garmin watch, while the top three Mexican runners who finish in under 2 hours and 14 minutes will have the opportunity to win 50,000 Mexican pesos.
The marathon route will start on Avenida Insurgentes Sur, in front of the flagpoles at the Olympic University Stadium, then proceed through Insurgentes Sur, the avenues near Chapultepec, and end at the Zócalo Capitalino, covering a total of 42.195 kilometers. The minimum age to participate is 18 years, and both national and foreign runners must cover the registration fee of 800 Mexican pesos and 100 dollars respectively.
Registrations are available on the official website from the announcement launch until August 27, allowing interested parties to prepare for this major sporting event in Mexico City.
